M&G, a UK-based savings and investments firm, has appointed Matt Mansour as its new chief technology and AI officer, effective 16 September. Mansour brings over three decades of experience to the firm, having held various leadership roles at General Electric, Barclays, and QBE Insurance.
He began his career at General Electric, where he held leadership roles before being appointed as head of business transformation and digital. He later moved to Barclays, where he ascended to managing director and group chief technology information security officer.
At M&G, Mansour will oversee the delivery of the group’s technology, digital, and AI strategy, reporting to group CEO Andrea Rossi. He is set to take over the responsibilities from Chris Cochrane, who has served as group chief information technology officer since 2018.
Cochrane announced that he would be leaving M&G this summer to join Aviva as its new group chief information officer. In a statement, M&G confirms that Cochrane is “stepping down from his role at the end of July“.
Mansour joined QBE Insurance in 2018, serving initially as group chief information officer, and from 2021, group executive of technology and operations. Most recently, he served as COO of next gen technology and AI enablement at SMBC Group and was a founding member of AI start-up kAIgentic, where he is now a strategic adviser.
M&G, which traces its roots back to 1848, is an international savings and investments firm offering retail and institutional clients access to wealth management, asset management, insurance, and investment solutions.
